During the pandemic, one of, if not the best thing you could possibly do, is to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. However, a recent trend in local business and government buildings is being implemented after the overuse of hand sanitizer is causing people to have hands that have been described as smelling "like depression and Doritos."
Companies such as Purell, Clorox, and other related entities have spoken out on this topic, some with aggravating results.
Carey Jaros, CEO of Gojo Industries, commented on the state of this nasty smelling hand emergency, and responded with this. "They're using it aren't they? As long as people are staying safe, I think you can deal with the stench. What are you going to do complain? You going to complain about this like the masks?"
Jaros was obviously aggravated. Despite the nasty smelling hands, and possibly a little too high of numbers of bottles gone through a day, numbers of cases on college campus like UW-Oshkosh remain extremely low, with people living almost day-to-day safely.
However, on the opposite end of the spectrum, we now seem to be seeing a viral trend of people addicted to the smell coming from these sanitize hands. In fact, an Instagram account with the username @sanyhandzvid19 has been frequently posting vids of them sniffing their fingers, as well as their roommate's hands. They seem to be getting a definite enjoyment, inspiring a viral trend known as "Smell Dem Nasty Handz." Not shocking to see, when it originated out of a college dorm.
