A popular trend has been normalizing different objects, foods, and even fictional characters into unique baby names. However, some of the recent additions prove to be concerning to some parents.
While characters like Ian, Fiona, Debbie, and Phillip from Shameless are pretty safe bets on what the general public will accept as names for children. However, an increase in odd names have parents concerned about the process of naming new children and how seriously people take it.

The most popular baby names of last year were Liam and Olivia. No harm, no foul as these are pretty standard names, however, in the past we have seen some pretty out there names, and the numbers only seem to be rising higher and higher. A prime example of this is the eldest daughter of Frank Zappa. Her name: Moon Unit. While there is no judgement from us here at News You Need, we just think . . . actually, you know what? We DO JUDGE!
There is nothing wrong with wanting your kids name to be unique, because the lord knows we don't need another Jack, John, or Zach. However, names like Kingmessiah, Darth, and Cyanide, ALL REAL NAMES BY THE WAY, seem more like a username or a pseudonym for the next up-and-coming Soundcloud rapper rather than a name on a legal document.
The concern many have is how seriously damaging this can be for future generations. I mean, look at your kids. Do you think naming them "Spongebob," is going to remain after 5th grade? Or giving them the moniker of "Robocop" will look good on a job application? Supposedly wouldn't be bad for a convention volunteer, but how serious will future generations take naming their kids if we are naming them the next hit cartoon character?
Then again, scarring them for life will probably keep them from making our mistakes . . . So, disregard this article! NAME YOUR KIDS THE WEIRDEST THING YOU CAN THINK OF!
